June 28, 2008 Special Event!

On January 1, 2008 changes to the AKC Rules, Regulations and Guidelines governing Hunting Tests became effective.   These will have a significant impact on the eligibility of both current and prospective AKC Hunt Test Judges.
 

To assist Judges in maintaining their eligibility, the IRISH SETTER CLUB OF HOUSTON offers an AKC Hunting Test Judges seminar, to be held in Lexington TX on June 28th.  Available space is limited, so please send your reservation as soon as possible.
 

While this event is produced to make sure that our judges have adequate opportunity to attend in advance of the required date January 1, 2009, we would like to note that it is equally beneficial to others who may (or may not) become judges in the future.  We would like to particularly encourage EXHIBITORS in the advanced level Hunt Tests -- Senior and Master -- to attend as well, as this is an excellent source of information and guidance regarding handler errors... and significant other detail that must otherwise be learned through trial and error!  The discussion of specific and unusual situations which have actually been encountered by attendees and judges in the field is always enlightening and informative.
